[She was, at the very least, prompt. On the upside, going to the Sigyn house from her shop was a surprisingly easy feat. She would only be about fifteen, twenty minutes tops before knocking on his door.]

[And as soon as Sam had knocked on his door, he had opened it. He certainly seemed a bit paler than normal, and his eyes were a definite indicator that he hadn't been getting proper sleep. But he just moves aside to let her into his room as he plops himself on his bed.]

You arrived much sooner than I expected.

[She noticed and walked in, putting a bag on the top of the the desk in the room and leaning against the wall, shrugging with a bit of a smirk.]

Betting you forgot. Pinch's just in the next district, not that far from the hospital. Helps.

[...ah, right, he remembered how easy it was to actually find the shop back when he came to visit for some medicine, himself. But he merely shrugged it off, having a little coughing fit to himself.]

It is handy to actually have around, I will admit. And I'm...also grateful you came by, I suppose.

Home delivery, one of the prizes of living this close. And yeah, I like being closer to the hospital, in case they need something quickly.

[She tossed him a little bottle.]

Spoonful. Every day. It tastes like rat droppings.

[Sadly, his reactions were a bit slow right now, so it hits him before he realizes what it is.]

...spoonful, huh? I could care less about the taste, but...what is this?

It'll settle the cough while you're taking the other meds. Better to keep it calmed down to help you recover. Always harder when you're hacking up a lung, isn't?

You have a point. I'd rather not cough up a lung in this sort of state, but...

[He sighs, putting the medication off to the side.] ...It's sad, as well. There's much I wanted to help out with, but I couldn't do it in this condition.

Think of it this way. Things're pretty quiet right now. Thiazi'll retaliate soon enough, but we've got a little time. If you've gotta be sick, right now's as good a time as any.

...I suppose you're right. Hm. Could you do me a favor, if that's the case? Tell me when a crisis does come up, otherwise I'm rather secluded to this room and whatever business I may find outside of...ah. Speaking of which.

Do you have any openings at your store?

Openings, for work? Front desk is available. Sophie could probably use a second for backup, and I'm not a people person. The natives are good, but a lot of them are still partially gray and not very good at that sort of work.

If you're wanting to work in the lab... well that depends on if you know how to work with poisons or want to learn making magical toxins. It's... kind of noxious work really. But don't worry. I'll let you know if something comes up.

(OOC: You can safely handwave that she lets him know about the poisonings the first day if you wish, though she thinks its another plague.)

Toxins. I've actually built up an immunity to poisons, thanks to a certain friend of mine from back at home. It's actually quite useful to have when someone actually tries to come along and tries to poison you, isn't it? I'm glad, really.

Besides, I'm sure, given the situation, I wouldn't be able to handle people, as well. It's sad, actually, I've been meaning to work on that...but alas, nothing I can do about it.

I'm not sure how much your immunities will help with the magical stuff I work with, and how much is still active here, but if it's more a traditional tolerance it might still be in place.

[She considered for a minute.]

If you want in on this, we can work on training you on the basics and go from there. An extra set of hands while I'm working would not hurt.

I'm sure it'll help me out plenty. But the training coupled with it might help me out as well. [He paused for a moment, considering this as well.]

But like I said, if I were to work with you...maybe I'd get a better understanding of this "magic" business you were talking about.

With alchemy, it's a question of quantities, properties and mixtures. There's not as much that will seem as magical as you might think, though some of the hallucinations they cause are a lot less normal than a regular poison. I can show you a few runes, though.

I'd actually appreciate something like that, to be honest. But...so far, this is a little convincing- mostly since it'll give me something to preoccupy my time with now. Now, when will we begin training, first off? I'd like to know as soon as possible.

As soon as you're not sick. My immune system isn't what it should be here, and I don't need to be getting sick myself, but otherwise you're in.
